I am Leslie Lyon: fractional CMO, marketing strategist, and the person behind this business since 2015. I build the marketing system a business runs on, the strategy, the content engine, the search, the CRM, and then I run it beside a human team and three AI agents so the owner can get back to the work only they can do. I have been reading businesses through their numbers since I was eight. This page is the long version.
Your voice is the front door. Your systems are what happens after someone walks through it. I build both, and I never confuse the two.
Origin stories on About pages are usually the polished version. Here is the real one, with the weird turns left in, because the thread through all of them is the reason I am good at this.
He was self-employed and someone had to do it. That someone was me, on a very new, very ancient computer. Numbers made sense to me in a way they probably should not have at that age, and somewhere in that tiny bookkeeper brain was the beginning of understanding how a business works. I look back with some questions. I also did a bang-up job.
My first real brand was our family farm. We grew crops, we retailed them, and I ran the operation: what people wanted to buy, how to get it in front of them, how to get them to buy it. That farm is where I learned everything I now do professionally. I did not know that yet.
After my divorce I chose a business I knew nothing about, on purpose. The theory: if I understood the framework of how a business works, I could run any business. I built a funnel where clients went through the whole process and paid before they ever spoke to me. No coffee chat, no convince-me call. The system did that work, and it hit $100K inside six months.
Each one taught me something, and each one confirmed the same thing: marketing was the thread running through all of it. Find the right people, tell them the right story, build the system that moves them from stranger to client. The industry was almost beside the point.
This business is where all of those roads led. Fractional CMO strategy and the execution under it, for entrepreneurs, real estate teams, and service brands across the US and beyond. Many of the first clients are still clients. We have shared a lot of life by now.
I went a year without touching my own site and it showed: zero clicks, the kind of site that only gets traffic if you hand someone the link. I overhauled it, rewrote what I do, and started writing what matters to my clients. 21K unique visitors and 99 clicks in the first 28 days. Then I built the team that runs it now: three AI agents, a human team, and me setting the direction.
Because I am heavy on content, people assume I assess a business by its content first. I do not. I look at four things that decide whether any content can convert, and the real problem is almost never where the owner thought it was.
Most owners cannot explain their offer in one plain sentence, and it shows on every page and post. Your offers, your website copy, and your content have to line up. When they do not, everything else is noise.
I map every step from first touch to signed contract and look for the places that ask for commitment before trust. Almost every business has two or three. Removing them moves the number faster than any new campaign.
Likes and follows feel the best and mean the least. I want profile visits, link clicks, inquiry rates, and conversion by content type. No measurement means no optimization. We would be guessing.
AI belongs in the operational layer. The pipeline, the follow-up, the reports, the touch points, so no lead falls through while humans do the human work. It does not belong in your voice. Your perspective is the asset, and the moment you automate it, your audience feels it and leaves.
I did not want a pile of disconnected tools. I wanted a team, so I built one. Each agent has a job and a corner of the business to watch, and all of it comes home to me and the people I work with.
Watches search across every client. Weekly wins and warnings to my inbox, a monthly report of newly indexed pages, content gaps, and the keywords I have asked her to track. I never log into Google myself.
Writes in my voice: blogs, newsletters, captions, hooks. I riff my half-formed ideas with her and she gets a working draft going. Every page on this site, including this one, went through Muse and then through me.
Watches the other two. Drift, rule-breaks, anything off, she catches it and tells me. She went back through six months of my own blog and flagged where I broke my own rules. She also tells the team when scheduled work goes off target.
The humans. A team of employees runs the client work, the design, and every part of marketing that needs a face, a phone call, or a judgment call. I hold the CMO seat myself and set the direction for all of it. Sage spots the opportunity, Muse writes it, Vesta keeps it on brand, the team ships it, and I sign off.

“The businesses winning in 2026 have one thing in common. They stopped posting to check the box and started building systems linked with social media to drive sales and engagement.”
One of the experts Marketer Magazine turned to for where content marketing is going, and a regular voice in their roundups.
“The only entry that pairs senior fractional CMO strategy with a proprietary organic content system and full-service execution under one roof.”
Ranked on strategic leadership depth, an integrated ecosystem instead of siloed services, and documented organic results. The two proof points they named: the trial reels framework and a real estate lead pipeline built with zero ad spend.
Six kids. Nine grandkids and a tenth on the way, which will put the boys at four and the girls at six. I have not hit 50 yet, and I am almost always a step behind: I learned to be a daughter when I became a parent, and a parent when I became a grandparent. I cannot help wondering if that is by design.
Oregon raised me. California is where I raised my kids. Then a year in Washington, a year in Colorado, and now South Carolina, which is home. Most of my clients are relationships built over years, so a trip back through any of those states is part celebration, part client visits, all love. You will catch me virtually, on my travels, or at the gym.
Questions are my favorite thing. Most of what I write started as one somebody sent me, so send yours.
What the people I work with say, in their own words, on Google and on Facebook.
Working with Leslie and her team during the launch of my new business has been an outstanding experience, one I would highly recommend to anyone seeking to elevate their brand. From our very first interaction, I was immediately struck by Leslie’s dedication to delivering quality in every aspect of her work.
One of the most impressive traits Leslie possesses is her responsiveness. In the fast-paced environment of a startup, quick and effective communication is essential. Leslie has consistently been available to answer any questions I had, provide timely updates, and pivot strategy as needed. This speed in communication has not only been reassuring but has also played a significant role in hitting our launch deadlines.
Equally important is Leslie’s attention to detail. When you’re launching a new business, every little aspect counts, and Leslie understands that. From the fonts and color schemes used in our marketing material to the nuanced language in our press releases, Leslie has shown an unmatched eye for detail. This meticulous approach ensures that our brand message is coherent, compelling, and most importantly, memorable.
But what truly sets Leslie apart is her willingness to go above and beyond what is required. On numerous occasions, she has proactively identified opportunities for brand enhancement that we hadn’t even considered. For instance, she suggested creative content strategies to extend our reach, and initiated partnerships that have added significant value to our brand. Her proactive approach has made our business launch not just a one-time event, but an ongoing process of brand building and refinement.
In summary, if you’re looking to get your brand not just recognized but deeply "branded" into the minds of your target audience, I cannot recommend Leslie and her team highly enough. Curious whether
we are a fit?
Book a call and bring your offer, your numbers, and the thing that is not working. I will tell you where I think the real problem is. It is rarely where people expect.
The long versions, in my own words, before we ever get on a call.
Entrepreneurs, real estate teams and brokerages, and service brands, across the US and globally, since 2015. The best fit is an owner who wants senior direction and a connected system, and is willing to collaborate on it. A poor fit is a brand whose main need is paid search management, or an enterprise account running dozens of campaigns at once.
South Carolina. I was raised in Oregon, raised my kids in California, and spent a year each in Washington and Colorado before landing here. Client work runs virtually, with in-person visits whenever travel lines up. A lot of my client relationships go back years, so it lines up often.
A senior marketing lead inside your business for a set number of hours a month. You get the direction a full-time CMO brings, connected to the execution underneath it, without the salary. Here is how the seat works when I hold it.
Yes, inside rules. Muse drafts in my voice from real search data, Vesta checks it against my rules, and I read every piece before it goes out. AI runs the operational layer. The opinions, the stories, and the calls are mine.
Both are real. There is a human team of employees, there are three AI agents with jobs and schedules, and I set the direction and hold the CMO seat myself. The agents are documented in the Meet the Team post.
Forty-five minutes. Bring your offer, your numbers, and what is not working. I look at offer clarity, the customer journey, how your content lines up with the business, and what you measure, then tell you where I think the real problem is.
Marketer Magazine’s expert roundups on content marketing, and the number one spot on The Visual Communication Guy’s 2026 ranking of top digital marketing agencies for real estate and service brands. Both are linked above.
It is the point of the work. The system runs the marketing on a schedule so the owner can be on camera, in the conversations, and in their life. I took 30 days off my own site to prove it holds.
