Someone asked me the most interesting question this month. How does a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of six end up a serial entrepreneur?

Here is the twist. It happened backward. I was doing my dad’s books at eight years old. I was born for this. I loved being a mother, and I was also dying to build something. So I chose to homeschool for a reason most people would never guess: I wanted to teach my kids how to run a business. Sales, people, ownership, and everything in between.

We started with something the kids’ dad had always wanted to do. Turns out he was not great at it, so he handed the whole thing to me and the kids to fix. That became the first brand I ever built, and the brand was us: our family, our kids learning to farm, retail their own crops, and deliver them all over Northern California.

Here is where it hit different. I found a niche hiding inside grass hay. Horses prone to founder get very sick because they cannot process the sugar in ordinary hay. So we cut ours before photosynthesis, had it lab tested, and could prove it was a genuinely low-sugar crop. That proof let us sell to a small, particular client who was glad to pay for it, at a 1500% markup. We took the farm from red to black in a single calendar year. Booyah.

That is still the whole job. Today I run a fractional CMO practice and an AI agent team, finding the niche, proving the value, and pricing for what it is worth. Same instinct, bigger classroom. I just have more students now, and I call them clients.
