Own Your Stack: Leaving WordPress, AI Guardrails, and Your Bio-Link Funnel
Hi friend,
Three things this month, and every one of them comes down to taking back control. Control of where your site lives, control of what your AI is allowed to say, and control of where all those views actually go.
Why I Left WordPress (Happily)
I launched my first business 20 years ago on WordPress. It has been the foundation of every launch I have done since. So this is not a small thing for me to say: I left it, I am happy I did, and I am migrating all my clients too.
AI moved fast, and I was skeptical of the shift. I did not jump. I watched for months, and I tested it the careful way first, using AI to build inside WordPress where I already knew the ground.
Then my last security-and-plugin break hit, the kind that quietly eats your afternoon, and I decided to see what a fully AI-built site could really do. It was impressive. The migration, the build-out, the speed, the lack of errors. All of it.
Not gonna lie, having no back end to log into has me feeling a little weird. I will adjust quick. And I will adjust even faster to a site that is not breaking and not throwing security issues anymore.
Twenty years was a good run. Here is where I landed.
Your website should give you time back, not eat your week.
I Can Plug Any AI Into My Agent Team
My whole agent team lives in one central cloud hub. My voice, my rules, my workflows, all of it sits in a shared home in the cloud instead of trapped on one laptop. That single choice changed what my team can be.
Because it all lives there, I can plug in any AI I want and hand it the exact workflows it is best at. I am not married to one model. If one is cheaper for a certain job, I run more of that job through it. If another has a better experience for a specific task, I route that task to it. The right AI for the right work.
Here is my favorite example. Claude does most of my heavy writing. Powerful, but no single model should grade its own homework. So I added ChatGPT, and one of its jobs is to watch Claude's output and hold it to my rules, flagging anything off-brand, off-voice, or off-facts before it ever reaches me. A guardrail that never gets tired. ChatGPT also pulls its weight on other workflows where it simply fits better.
One model creates, another one checks, and I stay the final human yes. This is the same reason I built Vesta, my watchdog agent. The more your AI does for you, the more you want the freedom to use the best tool for each job, and something watching the whole thing.
Here is the part I want you to take with you: if you are leaning on AI but nothing is checking its work, that is the first gap I look for. Once AI is doing real work in your business, guardrails are what separate a tool you trust from one you have to double-check by hand. Build them in early.
No single AI should grade its own homework. Don't marry a model. Hire the one that fits the job.
What Are Your Profile Links Doing For You?
Last month my content crossed 2 million views. Here is the number almost no one checks: how many of those viewers actually tapped the links in my bio to decide where to go next.
172,363 people landed on my profile. 6,382 of them tapped a link.
- 2M+ content views
- 172,363 profile visits
- 6,382 link taps
Here is how the funnel really works. Your views let people know who you are. Your engagement brings them to your profile. Your profile is the funnel, and what they do once they get there decides where they land. If your bio is empty, or it is one lonely link, all that reach has nowhere to go. Mine is built so every tap is a person choosing exactly where they want to land, and there is always somewhere worth going.
Go check yours right now. If you need ideas, check mine.
Views get you seen. Your bio links get you chosen.
Own Your Stack
This whole issue is one theme: own your stack. Your platform, your AI, your funnel. The more of it you actually control, the more it works for you instead of the other way around.
And if WordPress has been eating your time the way it was eating mine, let me build you the same thing I just built for myself. Faster, cleaner, and no back end to babysit.
See you virtually, unless you catch me on my travels or the gym. Leslie
P.S. Reply and tell me which one you are fixing first: your platform, your AI guardrails, or your bio links. I read every one.
